Arikyrenne the dragon tries to get up and move, but the goopy stuff is still weighing her down and otherwise preventing movement wherever it's covering her scales...she's also fighting to stay conscious from the crash landing itself, though her vision is rather blurry and swimming

She's still cold, though she knows that now all she has to do is just swim around now*

Mar Owens (1:34 am): Not with this many people before...I've been to the beach on missions, but nothing like this. It's a little distracting, since I can't see past all of these people...but it is nice, too.
Arikyrenne (1:39 am): Yeah, it is pretty crowded, though certainly can't blame people for wanting to be out here on a day like this^^; *watches as a few children toss a football around to each other nearby* Back on my homeworld, my parents used to take me to a beach nearly every summer for vacation. *smiles at the memories* We always had a good time.

Arikyrenne (1:46 am): *thinks for a bit* My homeworld... I guess in some ways it's similar to this world, with cities and towns, forests and seas and such. There were only humans, though, as opposed to the anthropomorphic population of this world. Took me a bit to get used to that, seeing people-sized hedgehogs, foxes, and the like that walked on two legs and talked^^; Also, the technology was definitely not as advanced as it is here.

Mar Owens (12:38 am): Let's see...we were headed past that beach, and I was hoping that we could stay somewhere in that city before moving on, but that plan's pretty much scrapped...those crabs appeared rather conveniently, too, so they may have calculated where we were going. So we'll have to do something else...
Mar Owens (12:39 am): We'll need to find someplace that's easily defendable, for starters, and maybe wait it out there for a while.

Mar Owens (12:44 am): Yes - even a small valley would do, although to avoid being spotted by aerial robots, something with cover would be ideal.
Arikyrenne (12:47 am): *glances back behind her again to see if they've lost the flying crab bots, though of course she has no idea what kind of range the crabs would have in terms of sight, which might be a problem*
Mar Owens (12:49 am): Crabs: *well, if anything, they are out of sight*
Arikyrenne (12:51 am): I don't see them any more, so looks like we lost them^^
Mar Owens (12:53 am): Yeah...we can't count on them not sending reinforcements to our predicted position, though. *there are some cliffs below, lining the coast*
Arikyrenne (12:55 am): That's true. *flies a bit lower as she sees cliffs so they can get a better look at the rock face*
Mar Owens (12:58 am): *looks at the cliff face, scanning for place where they might be able to hide* How are your eyes in your other forms? Are they sharper than your human ones?
Arikyrenne (1:01 am): Quite a bit, actually, though that doesn't mean I can't still miss things^^; *happens to spot an opening right as she says that, though* How about that one? *does her best to point to it with her nose*
Mar Owens (1:03 am): *looks to where she is pointing, and nods* That should work. We can find some rocks to hide the entrance so that it'll be harder for the robots to find it too.
Arikyrenne (1:07 am): Okay. *angles her wings so that they soar back around, and then heads directly for the cave opening, flairing her wings to kill off the remaining flight speed as she comes in for a gentle landing on the ledge*

Mar Owens (1:09 am): *as soon as she's landed, he hops down from her back and clips a ring onto his hand - he activates it and it projects a powerful light source* Okay, let's investigate it first and make sure it's safe.

Mar Owens (2:05 am): We could remove them, but it would take precision. Power crystals partly rely on their formation for their stability and power. If it's broken wrong, it will either detonate, or - worse - be more powerful, but grow unstable and corrupt anything using it as a power source. That's the danger with power crystals.
Arikyrenne (2:07 am): *looks at Mar as he explains, then glances back at the crystals again* That does sound pretty dangerous o.o;
Mar Owens (2:10 am): Power crystals are a natural resource that are relatively safe, have no real side effects, produce no pollution...as long as they are handled carefully. It isn't much different from other power sources used throughout the ages. Fire. Gasoline. Nuclear power.
Mar Owens (2:10 am): The problem is, power crystals are rarer, and require time to build up.
Arikyrenne (2:11 am): *nods* Just like other minerals that nature creates.
Arikyrenne (2:13 am): *meant that in terms of taking time to build up, btw, since she does definitely see these crystals as something rare/special^^;*

Mar Owens (2:15 am): But even in my time, we don't understand all the reasons behind them...like where they get such immense power. The main theory right now is that the crystals don't generate it, per se, but are transmitting it from some kind of higher energy plane. Different energies have different properties; heat is the lowest form of energy, for example, while light is one of the highest.

Arikyrenne (11:35 pm): *watches as the bot powers down, and sinks to her knees near Mar, panting as she tries to catch her breath and otherwise recover from the battle*
Mar Owens (11:38 pm): ...good, job...that was definitely meant as a sneak attack, but if I'm right, they didn't know we were in here. If they did, it probably would have reported us right away and we'd be swarmed with robots by now. But it may not have a transmitter as a stealth feature.
Mar Owens (11:43 pm): But if it doesn't report back soon...then they'll figure out what happened anyway. We have to move.

Mar Owens (12:36 am): Yes...here, maybe this will help. *he slips on a pair of goggles with dark lenses, and holds out another pair to her - the goggles are quite minimal in size, but do the job right* These are meant to help protect against flashbangs, but they do well for handling light crystals too.

Mar Owens (12:51 am): Yeah. Some species are dangerous, but most of them mind their own business as long as you mind yours. Lightcrawlers are photosynthetic, and in exchange, they secrete minerals necessary to the formation of more light power crystals. Lightcrawlers are also a bit psi-sensitive, and are photokinetics.
Arikyrenne (12:58 am): ah, I see o.o *gives a nod as she continues watching the critters curiously* So they can create and manipulate light as well?...and, um... *as part about them being a bit psi-sensitive registers*...Is there anything in particular I should or shouldn't be doing right now? Mar Owens (1:05 am): I'm not sure how intelligent they are...research hasn't really figured out how in control they are of their mental abilities. *also in a hushed tone, matching hers* But they definitely respond to thoughts from other living beings.
Mar Owens (1:06 am): Lightcrawler: *then it weaves the light through the air in less straight lines, forming the shape of a dragon - a very familiar dragon, Ari's dragon form! The entire thing is picture-perfect, composed entirely of varying degrees of light shaded together*

SilverShadow (9:44 pm): Hang on a moment... *Stops pulling on the rope, and raises a hand at the Crystalpede. There's a magical sounding "Ting!", before a large burst of light erupts from his hand at the crystalpede* Grantis!

Mar Owens (9:50 pm): Crystalpede: *doesn't stop charging, the field has grown larger around it as it races down the wall toward SS as the light burst flies up at and around the crystalpede's reflective carapace*

Mar Owens (12:12 am): Justin: I have placed this here, of all places, to mark that I have explored this crystal cave and discovered a few new samples of what I've termed "power crystals." These crystals seem to have energy-generation abilities that outpace fusion power, and are ultimately safer in terms of radiation output. I have taken a few samples of each type I have seen here, and will experiment with them as I continue my journey.
